features

High precision servo motor control
The MDSM series Dual Motor Channel Robot DC Servo Driver adopts vector control, PID regulation, and real-time current detection to achieve fast and accurate DC servo motor control. Supports position, speed, and torque control modes, which can control motor speed, rotation position, forward and reverse rotation, commutation, and braking. Real time output current regulation helps reduce the risk of overcurrent, combined with shorter motor response time, providing more sensitive motion control capabilities for robots, AGVs, and automation equipment.

Dual channel servo drive simplifies the integration of multiple motor systems
The MDSM series adopts a dual channel servo drive architecture, integrating two motor channels into one servo drive, which can help simplify the electrical architecture of automation systems that require coordinated control of multiple motors. Different models provide different power ranges and current capabilities. System designers can choose suitable dual channel servo drives based on motor and application requirements, which are suitable for integrated applications of robots, automation equipment, and multi motor motion control systems.

Incremental encoder and Hall feedback support
The MDSM series servo drive supports incremental encoders and Hall feedback, and the corresponding feedback method can be selected according to the motor feedback configuration. Its incremental encoder interface supports differential ABZUVWW signals, where ABZ can be configured as TTL signal and UVW can be configured as Hall signal, providing flexible interface selection for different motor feedback configurations.
During operation, the feedback interface can be used to monitor the motor position and feedback status, supporting closed-loop motion control and fault detection. For OEM equipment integration, the MDSM series user manual provides corresponding motor feedback wiring and terminal definitions, making it easy for engineers to select feedback interfaces and connect systems based on motor configuration.

CANopen and RS485 communication facilitate servo system integration
The MDSM series servo drive provides CAN and RS485 communication interfaces for communication integration with external control systems. Among them, RS485 supports Modbus ASCII and Modbus RTU protocols, and the CAN interface supports CANopen based on CiA DS301 and CiA DSP402. It also supports custom CAN protocols to meet the communication and control needs of different systems.
Through the communication interface, control and configuration functions such as servo start, speed command, torque command, position related command, control mode switching, emergency stop, and zero return can be achieved. The MDSM series also provides detailed communication interfaces, terminal definitions, and wiring methods, making it convenient for engineers to integrate servo drives and upper control systems at the system level.

Servo drive wiring and motor system integration
The MDSM series servo drives provide DC power input, motor phase wire, motor feedback, communication, and I/O control interfaces. Terminal layouts and connector definitions vary by model. For OEM equipment and automation system integration, the user manual provides information on power input, U/V/W motor connections, braking resistors, communication interfaces, and motor feedback wiring to facilitate engineers in confirming electrical interfaces according to the specific model.
During the system integration process, interface configuration can be centered around the DC power supply, servo drive, servo motor, motor feedback, as well as CAN/RS485 communication and I/O control. By referring to the corresponding model's terminal definitions and wiring information, engineers can verify relevant electrical interfaces before equipment assembly and commissioning, providing a wiring reference for servo drive OEM integration, robotics, and automation equipment applications.

MDSM servo drive system integration
The MDSM series servo drive adopts a dual channel drive architecture, which can connect two servo motors and receive incremental encoder or Hall feedback signals through corresponding motor feedback interfaces. The system can communicate with external control systems through CAN/CANopen or RS485/Modbus to achieve control and configuration in the servo system.
The system integration diagram illustrates the overall relationship between DC power supply, MDSM dual channel servo drive, dual motors, encoder/Hall feedback, and communication interface, providing intuitive reference for OEM equipment and system integrators to select servo drives, design electrical architecture, and integrate systems.

Position, speed, and torque closed-loop control
The MDSM series DC servo drive supports closed-loop control of position, speed, and torque, and can select the corresponding control mode according to system control requirements. The default working mode of the driver is speed closed-loop control, which supports both position closed-loop and torque closed-loop control, and combines PID regulation and real-time current detection to achieve motor forward and reverse rotation, commutation, braking, as well as speed and position control.
In the process of motion control, the MDSM series supports functions such as speed command and speed limit, torque command and torque limit, position command, forward and reverse jog, zero return and zero finding, electronic gear, emergency stop and limit control. At the same time, it can monitor current, speed, position and motor related faults, providing support for closed-loop motion control of DC servo motors in robots, mobile equipment and automation equipment.

Built-in Servo Drive Protection and Fault Diagnosis
The MDSM series servo drives are equipped with multiple protection and fault monitoring functions, covering power supply undervoltage and overvoltage, overcurrent, overload, drive overheating, motor phase loss, speed limit exceeded, and motor feedback abnormalities, providing support for fault monitoring during the operation of the servo drive and motor system.
During equipment commissioning and operation, the MDSM series supports viewing drive status and fault information through the Monitor window of the PC debugging software, and is also equipped with a dual-color LED indicator to provide operation and fault status prompts. The relevant diagnostic functions help engineers check wiring, feedback, power supply, and motor-related issues, facilitating the installation, commissioning, and operation maintenance of the servo system.
